A Cargo of Green Hearts
~POEMS~
I am the morning
kiss me you are beautiful sprawled there all angles and tangles beautiful as an unsuspected moon now stretched long as the shadow you think I make for you long as my longing to slide the yellow swords of my body beneath your sheets long as my longing to insinuate like a bird into your ear long as my longing to fill you with the verb of tumbling water don't wake right away don't be so diligent let me press my lips to your night-long drowning and draw you up one more time like a forgiven diver. it’s a kind of lovemaking this burglary from the night. I will stay a minute longer tomorrow & longer the next until you carry me like a spinning sun in your chest until Fall arrives with its dying leaves. it is then that you will remember me most dearly how I touched your face how I pointed you home.
